The Variant
JELLO Grape and lime ice cream with blueberry swirl.
16OZ/Pint size.
THE VARIANT 🧝‍♂️ is inspired by the Marvel character/Disney+ show “Loki.” The name is inspired by episode 2 of the same name. Variants are a version/alteration of something and/or someone of another timeline.
The flavour is inspired by a few things. Outside of the series, in the third instalment of the Thor trilogy “Thor: Ragnarok,” there’s a scene where Thor returns to Asgard to find Loki disguised as their father Odin, eating purple grapes and being pampered by women while watching a play. This scene was the inspiration for the Jello Grape flavour.
Even though Loki dresses in green, the colour theme of the flavour is blue. Loki isn’t actually an Asgardian. He was born in Jotunheim to a Frost Giant named Laufey, the king of the Frost Giants. They have blueish grey skin, red eyes and a pattern of ridges on their face and body. Loki was abandoned by Laufey and found by Odin after the war between Frost Giants and the Asgardians. Odin altered Loki’s appearance to that of an Asgardian and took Loki back to Asgard, raising him along with Thor as his own.
Continuing the blue colour theme, in the Loki series in episode 2, the character Mobius M. Mobius tells Loki a story about an encounter he had with a boy in 1549 France. The boy had given Mobius a blue candy called Kaloobie. The flavour of the candy was called “Blooberrie,” with a picture of a character that looks like a Frost Giant. These were all inspirations for the blueberry swirl.
