Thistle Honey Bear

$16.00

Milk thistle honey chamomile ice cream with raspberry lemonade swirl.

16OZ/Pint size.

THISTLE HONEY BEAR 🐻🍯 is inspired by Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh.” The name comes from Eeyore’s favourite food, thistles, and Winnie’s favourite food, honey. Thistles or Milk Thistles, are a herb flower in the daisy/ragweed family, with purple flower heads and a prickly stem. It has a very mild taste but has some great benefits. The main ingredient in milk thistle is silymarin, compounds that have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is mainly used for treating liver problems/promoting liver health. Some claim milk thistle may also do things like help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabeties, boost breast milk production, reduce cholesterol, improve bone health and more.

There was a Thanksgiving made-for-TV special called “A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving” that premiered in the late 90’s, about Winnie and his friends learning the true meaning about Thanksgiving. In the special, everyone brings something to the dinner party. Winnie, Eeyore and Gopher’s choices helped inspire the ice cream flavour; honey from Winnie, thistles from Eeyore and lemonade from Gopher.
In a cartoon featurette called “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day,” Piglet throws a hero party for Winnie. There were some cookies with jam filled centres on the table, the inspiration for the raspberries swirl. The chamomille was added for Piglet, since he loves flowers.

INGREDIENTS: Half and half, whipping cream, pure honey, skim milk powder, granulated sugar, egg yolks, milk thistle tea, chamomile tea.

SWIRL: Raspberries, lemon juice, granulated sugar.
